On the 29th September, the 12 members of the National Downs Syndrome Swimming team will jet off from OR Tambo International Airport for the 5th World Downs Swimming Championships in Taipei, Taiwan.

SA Continues to shine on Day 03 of Africa Champs

There is just no stopping the South African swimming team as they bagged 5 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronze medals on the third day of the 10th Senior African Swimming Championships in Casablanca, Morocco last night.

Leone Vorster won her second gold medal of the competition in the 400m freestyle clocking a fast 4:18.86. Coming closely behind her was Rene Warnes with a time of 4:19.22.

Important information regarding the SASKO A-League Galas

The Friday evening session will commence at 18:30 and the Saturday session will commence at 10:00.

It must be made very clear to the parents that any swimmer wishing to participate at this gala MUST be registered by no later than 31 July 2010.   This rule also applies to officials - all officials wishing to officiate at this gala must also be registered by 31 July 2010.

Du Toit Gold, Paul Silver

South Africa’s Natalie Du Toit and Kevin Paul added to the medal tally of the Rainbow Nation on Tuesday 17 August at the IPC World Swimming Championships in Eindhoven when they won gold and silver in the 100m Freestyle (S9) and 100m Breaststroke (SB9) respectively.

EP Open Water Swimmers Dominate at SA National Championships 

The most successful open water season ever in Eastern Province came to a successful conclusion at Senior Nationals with the Province winning no less than 12 medals.

We also finished second overall to Central Gauteng and our men swimmers won their division and the ladies came second.

The results are a phenomenal improvement on 2009 when EP had just 2 swimmers at SA Champs.

Hopes rising for River Mile to get pollution all-clear

Port Elizabeth’s annual Redhouse River Mile could return to its traditional venue next year as the municipality has started work to stem chronic pollution being discharged from Motherwell’s stormwater canal into the Swartkops River.

Law student Kevin Paul is a man on a mission. Already the owner of the world record in all breaststroke races in the SM 10 category, Paul smashed the 400m individual medley World record on his first attempt at the German Championships in Berlin on Thursday 17 June, 2010.
